कबीर-चौरा को यदि कविता माना जाये, तो यह हर आम व खास आदमी से सम्बन्धिा उन विषयों पर गुदगुदाती है, जिनसे उनका वास्ता पड़ता हो। महँगाई, अशिक्षा, बीमारी, बेकारी, मच्छर, मलेरिया आदि समस्याएँ हों या नेताओं की करतूत हो या राजनीतिक उठापटक और स्वार्थ, इन सब पर सरल भाषा में चुटीला व्यंग्य कबीर-चौरा की खासियत है। कबीर-चौरा न केवल पाठक का मनोरंजन करता है, अपितु व्यवस्था की उन सच्चाइयों को भी नंगा करता है, जिनके आधार पर लोकतन्त्र के लोग यानी आम आदमी को भरमाया जाता है, उसे सुनहरे सपने दिखाकर अपने आन्दोलनों में शामिल होने के लिए गरमाया जाता है और बाद में उसे ही गलत साबित कर शरमाया भी जाता है। इस प्रकार कबीर-चौरा एक ऐसा आईना है, जो व्यवस्था के पोषक सभी तत्त्वों को उनका असली रूप दिखाता है। 15 जनवरी 1944 को जन्मे डॉ. महरुद्दीन खाँ ने नवभारत टाइम्स, दिल्ली में 15 वर्ष तथा 7 वर्ष तक शाह टाइम्स में पत्रकारिता एवं 17 वर्ष तक प्राथमिक से लेकर स्नातक स्तर तक अध्यापन-कार्य किया है। इनके अनेक उपन्यास व व्यंग्य-संग्रह विभिन्न प्रकाशनों से प्रकाशित हुए हैं। सहारा टी.वी. पर चुनाव-चालीसा और साधना-न्यूज व इण्डिया टी.वी. पर भी अनेक कार्यक्रम प्रसारित हुए हैं। नवभारत टाइम्स दिल्ली में प्रकाशित नियमित दैनिक स्तम्भ ‘कबीर-चौरा’ का यह पुस्तकाकार स्वरूप है, जिसमें दोहे, कुण्डलियों और कवित्त के माध्यम से वर्तमान परिवेश को स्पर्श करती रचनाओं का संकलन है। अब तक लगभग प्रमुख समाचार-पत्रें एवं पत्रिकाओं में विभिन्न विषयों पर इनके सैकड़ों लेख व कविताएँ प्रकाशित हैं। Kabeer-chaura ko yadi kavita maana jaaye, to yah har aam va khaas aadamee se sambandhia un vishayon par gudagudaatee hai, jinase unaka vaasta padata ho. mahangaee, ashiksha, beemari, bekari, machchhar, maleriya aadi samasyaen hon ya netaon ki kartoot ho ya raajneetik uthapatak aur svaarth, in sab par saral bhaasha mein chuteela vyangy kabeer-chaura ki khaasiyat hai. kabeer-chaura na keval paathak ka manoranjan karata hai, apitu vyavastha ki un sachchaiyon ko bhi nanga karata hai, jinake adhaar par lokatantr ke log yani aam adami ko bharmaaya jaata hai, use sunahare sapane dikhaakar apane andolanon mein shamil hone ke liye garamaya jaata hai aur baad mein use hi galat saabit kar sharamaya bhi jaata hai. is prakar kabeer-chaura ek aisa ayina hai, jo vyavastha ke poshak sabhi tattvon ko unaka asali roop dikhata hai. 15 January 1944 ko janme Dr. Mahruddin Khan ne navbharat taims, dilli mein 15 varsh tatha 7 varsh tak shaah taims mein patrakaarita evan 17 varsh tak praathamik se lekar snaatak star tak adhyaapan-kaary kiya hai. inake anek upanyaas va vyangy-sangrah vibhinn prakaashanon se prakaashit hue hain. sahaara tee.vee. par chunaav-chaaleesa aur saadhana-nyooj va indiya tee-vee- par bhee anek kaaryakram prasaarit hue hain. navabhaarat taims dillee mein prakaashit niyamit dainik stambh ‘kabeer-chaura’ ka yah pustakakaar svaroop hai, jisamen dohe, kundaliyon aur kavitt ke madhyam se vartmaan parivesh ko sparsh karati rachanaon ka sankalan hai. ab tak lagbhag pramukh samachaar-patron evam patrikaon mein vibhinn vishayon par inake saikadon lekh va kavitaen prakaashit hain. Kabir-Chaura not only entertains the reader but also undermines the truth of the system, on whose base the people of democracy. That is, the common man is deceived, he is made to appear in his movements by showing golden dreams, and later he is also blamed for proving himself wrong. Thus Kabir-Chaura is a mirror who is the source of all the arrangements. The elements show their true form. Born on 15 January 1944, Dr. Mahruddin Khan has taught in the Navbharat Times, Delhi for 15 years and 7 years in Shah Times and 17 years from primary to graduate level. Many of his novels and satire collections have been published from various publications. A number of programs have also been broadcast on Sahara T.V. Election-Chalisa and Sadhana-News and India TV. Navbharat Times is the booklet form of ‘Kabir-Chaura’, a regular daily column published in Delhi, compiling compositions that touch the current environment through couplets, horoscopes and poetry. So far, hundreds of his articles and poems have been published in various leading newspapers and magazines on various subjects.
